Inner Mongolia horse race league begins winter events

A horse racing kicked off on Saturday in Xi Ujimchin Banner, Xiliin Gol League, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, raising the curtain for a series of winter events to be held this winter.
The Mongolian Horse Super League consists of four competitions, with each held in a season throughout a year.
The first competition began on Nov 18 and continues until Jan 28 next year, according to local government. More than 200 riders have signed up for the competition.
Considering the winter climate conditions in the region, the competition features two events - a 15-kilometer endurance race and a 6,000-meter team relay race, which will test the speed and endurance of the horses and riders.
With the launch of the horse race, the league's series of ice and snow activities has also begun.
A dozen major events will be gradually held, which will highlight the release of five top-quality winter tourism routes.
