Chrysanthemums key to economic growth in Hebei village
Chrysanthemums have been in full bloom recently in Qixinzhai village, Yongnian district of Handan, Hebei province, keeping local villagers busy with the jobs of picking, transporting and sorting the flowers.
In recent years, as part of the rural vitalization efforts, the district has adjusted its agricultural industry structure.
It adopted a "company, base and farmer" management model to guide farmers in developing a chrysanthemum cultivation industry according to local conditions, such as weather and soil quality.
After being picked, the chrysanthemums will be processed into high-value-added products and will be sold to multiple provinces, including Guangdong, Zhejiang and Fujian.
The industry has effectively improved agricultural efficiency and increased farmers' income, according to local government.
