Man clings to truck windshield in 100-kilometer journey amid gas station dispute

A man was carried on the front windshield of a truck for over 100 kilometers from Hubei province to Jiangxi province after a dispute at a gas station, according to media reports.
The man, surnamed Guo, sustained several injuries in the incident. The suspect, a 39-year-old man surnamed Wang, has been detained by police.
On Oct 3, Guo and Wang had a quarrel at a gas station in Yangxin, Hubei province. Wang then drove his truck and rammed into Guo's car, which was blocking his path.
Guo climbed onto the front windshield of Wang's truck to stop him. But Wang drove the truck onto a highway despite Guo's safety and the dissuasion of people around.
Along the way, Wang ignored the warnings, pursuit and attempts to intercept from police and civilian vehicles and carried out dangerous maneuvers such as swerving and squeezing. Two civilian cars were damaged.
Around 4 am the next day, Wang's truck was intercepted and stopped by police at the Yangjiahu toll station in Nanchang, Jiangxi. However, Wang managed to escape after abandoning his vehicle.
Wang surrendered himself to police on Oct 9.
The incident has sparked outrage online, with many users criticizing Wang's reckless behavior and calling for him to be punished severely.
Police are continuing to investigate the case.
