5.9-magnitude quake hits waters off Taiwan: CENC

BEIJING -- A 5.9-magnitude earthquake jolted the waters off Taiwan's Hualien county at 7:05 am Tuesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 23.96 degrees north latitude and 122.83 degrees east longitude. The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km, the center said.
