Over 300 Hong Kong, Macao youths attend military camp in Guangzhou

More than 300 young people from Hong Kong and Macao attended a youth military camp on Sunday in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province.

Participants from the two special administrative regions immersed themselves in military-camp life, with military training and demonstrations, and up-close access to advanced weaponry and equipment. The event aimed to deepen their understanding of national defense knowledge, military culture, and the country's development achievements. The camp has run for three years straight.

To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March, the camp integrated elements of the historical military campaign.

Sunday night featured a concert themed around national defense education.

"Through this up-close encounter, I believe China's weaponry and equipment are highly advanced," said Yeung Chun-kit, a Hong Kong youth studying traditional Chinese medicine at Jinan University.
