Former senior Shenyang municipal legislator indicted for bribery
BEIJING -- Fu Zhongwei, former chairman of the standing committee of the Shenyang municipal people's congress, has been indicted on charges of taking bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said Friday.
Fu's case has been filed by the People's Procuratorate of Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, to the city's intermediate people's court, following the conclusion of investigations by the National Commission of Supervision.
Prosecutors accused Fu of taking advantage of his various posts and abusing his power to enrich others, and accept an especially huge amount of money and valuables in return.
The prosecutors had informed the defendant of his litigation rights, interrogated him, and listened to the defense counsel's opinions.
