Shijiazhuang to move noisy rock music events

In response to complaints about noisy musical performances that disturb people's rest, Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, will adjust the times and locations of the events, according to a report by news website ThePaper on Friday.
The city rolled out its Rock Home Town music season — set to run from July to October — during which rock musicians performed from time to time in public places of the city, such as parks and urban squares.
The season has now concluded, according to organizers.
"For similar performances in the future, we will strictly control times and keep the locations as far from residential communities as possible," a statement by Shijiazhuang Cultural Tourism Investment Group Co said in reply to citizens' complaints, ThePaper reported.
Netizens had reported complaints that the music events in the city had been very loud since September, and performances often lasted until 11 pm, ThePaper reported.
According to the group in charge of the music season's activities, the Rock Home Town music season has ended, but for recreational activities in the future, it said it will conduct a survey of people's needs so it can better serve the community.
