Gas accident kills 10 in North China

HOHHOT -- Ten people were killed and three were injured in a gas spurt accident Thursday in the city of Ordos, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to local authorities.
Around 3:40 pm Thursday, a high-pressure gas spurt occurred at a workshop in an industrial park in Hangjin Banner, which resulted in multiple workers falling from elevated positions, according to the emergency management bureau of Ordos.
Shortly after the accident, local emergency management workers, firefighters, and medical staff joined the rescue operations.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
