Hangzhou tour guide fined for threatening tourist

A tour guide in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, has been fined 20,000 yuan ($3,000) and had his license suspended for 30 days for threatening to kick off a tourist who refused to go on a mandatory shopping trip.
The incident was caught on video and went viral on social media. The video shows the tour guide, surnamed Yang, arguing with a tourist surnamed Su over the shopping trip. Yang can be heard threatening to kick Su off the bus if he does not go on the trip.
The Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism launched an investigation into the incident and found that Yang had violated the law by unilaterally changing the travel itinerary and threatening a tourist.
The bureau also fined the travel agency that Yang worked for, the Hangzhou Jinyou Travel Agency, 50,000 yuan and suspended its operations for 30 days.
The bureau said it will continue to crack down on illegal behavior in the tourism industry and protect the rights of tourists.
The incident has sparked a debate on social media about the ethics of mandatory shopping trips. Some people said that the tour guide's behavior was unacceptable and that he should be punished more severely.
