Shanghai Jan-July trade up 7% to $336b
Shanghai's imports and exports in the first seven months of this year reached 2.45 trillion yuan ($335.8 billion), up more than 7 percent year-on-year, the local Customs office disclosed on Wednesday. Compared to the same period of 2021, the total value is up more than 10 percent. Exports were worth 995.9 billion yuan, up more than 9 percent year-on-year; imports totaled 1.45 trillion yuan, up 6 percent. In the seven-month period, Shanghai had 52,000 enterprises involved in imports and exports, up 6 percent year-on-year.
CNOOC scales up thin CBM project in Shanxi
China National Offshore Oil Corp on Wednesday put into operation China's first large-scale thin coalbed methane or CBM project, which is considered a breakthrough in the large-scale development of thin CBM. Located in Shanxi province, the Panhe thin CBM project currently has a cumulative production of 180 million cubic meters. Its trials started at the end of 2020. The project provides an important theoretical basis for the efficient development and utilization of thin CBM, it said.
