Kuaizhou 1A rocket launches 5 satellites
China launched a Kuaizhou 1A carrier rocket sending five satellites into space from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Southwest China's Sichuan province on Monday. The satellites were launched at 1:32 pm, and entered the planned orbit successfully. The satellites will mainly be used for providing commercial remote-sensing services. The launch was the 27th mission undertaken with Kuaizhou 1A series rockets.
Seminar shines light on Tibetan culture
Participants in the 7th Beijing International Seminar on Tibetan Studies said on Monday that Tibetan culture has been well protected and passed down over the decades. The three-day seminar opened in Beijing on Monday, with the theme "Prosperity of Tibetan Studies and the Opening of Tibet". It is jointly organized by the China Association for the Preservation and Development of Tibetan Culture, the China Tibetology Research Center and the Xizang Academy of Social Sciences. The seminar covers 20 topics, including politics, economics, rural development, education, Tibetan Buddhism and literature.
