A drone image shows the construction site of an underwater tunnel project in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, on Saturday. China Railway 24th Bureau Group Corp said its construction workers completed the installation of the first cast-in-place beam of a 6.8-kilometer tunnel project on Jianning West Road in the provincial capital, laying a solid foundation for follow-up construction. Upon completion, the tunnel will serve as another river-crossing link in Nanjing and help the city address congestion issues by facilitating vehicle trips between Gulou district and Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, a development demonstration zone of the nation, said CR24, a unit of centrally administered State builder China Railway Construction Corp.
