Deadly car crash kills 11, injures 9 in Armenia

YEREVAN - Eleven people have been killed and nine injured on Monday in a deadly car crash on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway, local rescue authorities said.
A Volkswagen passenger minibus and a ZIL truck collided in the early morning of Monday, near the village of Lanjik in Shirak Province, in the northwestern part of Armenia, the local rescue service said in a press release.
According to a preliminary investigation, the truck driver had entered the wrong side of the road when the head-on collision took place, local media reported.
