Level-one typhoon response activated for Doksuri

The Ministry of Transport activated a level-one typhoon response, the highest level of its kind, for Typhoon Doksuri, the fifth typhoon of this year, on Friday morning.
The typhoon landed in Jinjiang city in eastern province of Fujian around 9:55 am on Friday, bringing gales and torrential rains.
The National Meteorological Center forecasted that Doksuri will move northwest at a speed of 15 to 20 km per hour, and will weaken in intensity as it moves.
The transport ministry said that, as of 8 am of Friday, all highways in cities of Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou in Fujian province are under temporary suspension due to the effect of Doksuri. Seven highway sections in Zhejiang and 13 highway sections in Guangdong are also temporarily closed.
