Official arrested on charges of bribery

Wang Xuefeng, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Hebei Provincial People's Congress, has been arrested on suspicion of accepting bribes, according to a statement issued by the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Tuesday.
The National Supervisory Commission has recently concluded its investigation and transferred the case to procuratorial organs for review and prosecution. The case is under handling.
The 68-year-old was expelled from the Communist Party of China by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection over serious violations of Party discipline and laws earlier this month.
He was placed under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation in January.
Wang began working in 1971 and joined the Party in 1973. He was elected deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Hebei Provincial People's Congress in January 2013 and resigned from the position in 2018.
