Man banned from liquor consumption after court ruling

A man was given a three-year ban from being served liquor by the people's court of Liucheng county in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region in June, according to Jiupai News, a news portal based in Hubei province.
Caught in a spat after drinking, the man surnamed Deng gave his relative major injuries to the head, chest and shoulder after hitting him with a wooden club.
Afterward, Deng pleaded guilty and paid restitution to the victim who later forgave him for his behavior.
In June, the court in Liucheng county sentenced him to three years' imprisonment with three years of probation.
However, considering Deng's actions took place after consuming alcohol, a ban during the probation was also levied.
Local judiciary authorities, the community and villagers are going to make sure Deng abides by the ban, an official with the court told China News Weekly, adding his probation will be withdrawn and he will be sent to jail if he doesn't comply.
This was the first ban of its kind in the city of Liuzhou, which has jurisdiction over Liucheng county.
