Police solve murder from 19 years ago

With the help of advanced forensic technology, law enforcement officials in Xianju, Zhejiang province recently solved a murder case that occurred 19 years ago.
According to the authorities, the crime took place in a rented room in Xianju in Dec 2004.
The victim, a woman named Wu, was found to have been violently asphyxiated. Due to the lack of surveillance cameras, witnesses, and substantial evidence at the time, police were unable to solve the case.
In May this year, following the use of advanced forensic technology that tied the suspect Zhou to the crime, a task force arrested the 54-year-old man from Jiangxi province who works as a security guard in Shanghai.
Confronted with strong evidence, Zhou confessed to the crime and revealed that Wu was a prostitute he had hired. He killed her following a dispute over the payment.
Zhou is now facing charges of intentional homicide. The case is still being investigated.
