2 dead, 4 injured in Inner Mongolia explosion

Two people were confirmed dead and four injured in an explosion in Songshan district of Chifeng city in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Wednesday, according to the district government.
A gas leak caused the blast that occurred at 8:20 am in a residential community store, with some parts of the building being damaged, the government said.
The injured have been sent to hospital for treatment and do not have life-threatening injuries.
Rescue teams, comprised of people from public security, medical and firefighting departments immediately arrived at the site after the accident and helped the trapped individuals.
The district government immediately set up a working team, including several groups to arrange and deploy the treatment of the injured, the investigation of further risks, the placement of damaged house owners and the disposal of the aftermath of the accident.
The cause of the accident is still under further investigation.
