Chinese medical team in Gambia wins praise
The fifth group of Chinese (Liaoning) medical teams aiding Gambia has won praise from local people and medical workers for their superb medical skills.
Moudou, a 12-year-old Gambian child, accidentally ruptured his left Achilles tendon and was unable to walk. Professor Yuan Hongmou, a member of the medical team and an orthopedic surgeon from the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University, immediately arranged for surgery. The operation was a complete success with the help of Dr Hu Xiaolong from Third Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Taking this repair operation as a typical example, the local hospital tracked and recorded the whole operation process and paid tribute to the Chinese medical team.
Professor Wei Li, a gynecologist from Shengjing Hospital affiliated with China Medical University and a member of the medical team, helped local women solve pain issues.
The medical team will continue to help the local people with benevolence and make greater contributions to promoting the construction of a community of common health for mankind.
