From cute and cuddly in captivity to powerful beasts in the wild, the journey home for captive pandas is a challenging one. There are over 670 pandas in captivity and only 1,800 in the wild in China. The protection of genetic diversity is a key issue for the Chinese Panda Conservation Research Center.
