Ministry launches campaign to capture fugitives of financial crimes
The Ministry of Public Security recently launched Fox Hunt 2023, a special operation targeting people suspected of committing financial crimes who are on the run abroad, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
The operation is part of Sky Net 2023, a campaign launched by the central anti-corruption coordination group to target fugitives who fled overseas.
Public security organs will intensify efforts to focus on key cases and effectively improve the quality and efficiency of fugitive capture and asset recovery work. They will also deepen law enforcement cooperation and assist the discipline inspection and supervisory departments in pushing forward the work.
Public security organs will better facilitate the anti-graft campaign and earnestly safeguard national security and social stability, the ministry said.
Last year, more than 700 people suspected of committing various financial crimes were brought back from overseas under the Fox Hunt 2022 operation, it said.
