Acrobat died of accident during performance in Anhui

A female acrobat fell on the stage during a performance and eventually died from the sustained injuries in east Anhui province Saturday night, according to the local government statement on Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened during an acrobatics performance in Haogou township of the province's Suzhou city.

The woman died after hospital treatment failed and the performance has been suspended, according to a statement by the city government's information office. Investigation into the accident is still underway.

Multiple videos, published on the social media and believed to have been taken by the audience, showed that an actor fell on the ground from high when she and another acrobat were together performing a flying-trapeze program.
