Video in English puts a shine on mushrooms
A video clip showing a female civil servant from a town in Hubei province promoting local products in fluent English surprised many netizens.
In the video, He Jiali, a publicity official for the town of Maopingchang, talks about the canned mushrooms produced at a factory in Yuan'an county of Yichang.
Every month, the company produces more than 450,000 boxes of canned mushrooms that are transported to Qingdao Port in Shandong province. From there they are shipped to other countries and regions.
He Jiali was born and raised in Yuan'an. From 2010 to 2014 she studied at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, majoring in business English.
After graduation she worked as a translator. Since 2018, when she passed the civil service examination, she has worked for the Maopingchang town government.
