App allows fast parcel delivery between Taiwan, mainland

After nearly a month of trials, a mobile app called Tailutong — the first digital platform serving Taiwan compatriots on the Chinese mainland — officially launched its business of sending small personal parcels from Taiwan to the mainland.
Tailutong, an online platform based in Fuzhou, Fujian province, has been offering express services from the mainland to Taiwan since July. Now, with the official launch, express service across the Taiwan Straits will be as fast as it is on the mainland.
Deliveries that once took nearly a month, can now arrive in five days.
Small postal parcels should weigh less than 20 kilograms and have a unit price below 800 yuan ($116). Cellphones, computers and other single items that cost more but are indivisible and taxable, are also allowed.
