BEIJING -- Li Qiang was endorsed as Chinese premier Saturday morning at the ongoing first session of the 14th National People's Congress, the country's national legislature.
President Xi Jinping signed a presidential order to appoint him as premier. And then Li made a public pledge of allegiance to the Constitution.
Earlier, President Xi Jinping nominated him the candidate for premier.
