Fruit arrives in Changsha from Chile

A cargo plane carrying grapes and plums from Chile landed at Changsha Huanghua International Airport in Changsha, Hunan province, on Saturday. It was the first time the province imported fresh fruit this year via the international flight route through Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The fruit took to the air in Santiago, Chile, and stopped over in Addis Ababa, before heading on to Changsha.
As Hunan's first regular and direct cargo route that reaches Africa, the Changsha-Addis Ababa flight route started services in July, offering two flights per week.
The cargoes are mainly mobile phones and parts, construction machinery parts, quality garments and accessories. The planes carry back quality fresh cargoes such as fruit.
The flights save money on transportation, officials at the Changsha airport said.
To date, the Changsha-Addis Ababa flights have transported a total of 5,261.9 metric tons of cargo.
