Yiwu's market bounces back after three difficult years

Around 60 Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe cargo trains were dispatched during the Spring Festival holiday.

"Daily necessities, mechanical equipment, fabrics and other goods were successfully sent by train during the holiday," said the manager of Yiwu Yuanjing Supply Chain Management Company, who did not wish to give his name.

At the beginning of this year, the Yiwu government implemented a detailed plan for optimizing the business environment to promote foreign trade, including help with employee residency, production and management, international legal services and policy consultation.

The measures are an attempt to make it more convenient for foreign businessmen to trade, invest and negotiate in Yiwu, and the more favorable environment will increase business confidence, according to Zhu Gaomin, deputy director of the Yiwu Foreign Affairs Office.

In addition, Yiwu has chartered flights not only to bring international buyers to the city and make purchases on-site, but also to allow Yiwu's companies to participate in overseas exhibitions and expand global markets.

The city is also working hard to entice workers from outside the province to come and work there, launching a series of recruitment activities after the Spring Festival to alleviate employment shortages.
