Author Hu Fuming dies at 87


On Dec 18, 2018, he won the honorary title of "reform pioneer" at a meeting to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up held in Beijing.
When he was awarded, he said that the meeting would greatly propel the whole Communist Party of China and people of all ethnic groups to continue to push forward reform and opening-up in the new era.
He added he was deeply encouraged by President Xi Jinping's high appraisal of the achievements as well as his summary of the past 40 years' reform and opening-up and developments for the future.
In 2019, he was honored as one of the country's role models along with 277 other individuals and 22 groups.
The Nanjing University's official website shows that Hu's main research interests are Marxist Philosophy and Modernization Theory of Socialism.
