Dutch semiconductor equipment company ASML said it will continuously support the Chinese market with openness and focus, and work together with customers, partners and talents to promote the development of the global semiconductor industry.

The comments came as ASML showcased its holistic lithography solutions through various interactions such as metaverse experiences, lithography videos and virtual games at the fifth China International Import Expo, which is being held in Shanghai until Thursday.

Shen Bo, senior vice-president of ASML and president of ASML China, said "This is the fourth time ASML has participated in CIIE, and we hope to leverage the platform of CIIE to continuously demonstrate our openness and collaboration".

"ASML continuously supports the development of the semiconductor industry through 'open innovation' and focuses on lithography technology. At CIIE, we can have more opportunities to communicate and cooperate with partners from the integrated circuits industry and even across industries," Shen said.

Currently, ASML has 15 offices, 11 warehousing and logistics centers, three development centers, one training center and one maintenance center in the Chinese mainland, with more than 1,500 local employees.

The "ASML Metaverse" tour, unveiled for the first time at the CIIE, provides visitors with a unique and immersive experience. In the ASML Metaverse, visitors can enter the cleanroom and get up close to the lithography machine. In addition, they are able to experience 3D videos to learn the basic principles behind lithography machines.

Looking into the future, China will continue to play an integral role in driving the development of a highly collaborative global semiconductor industry, ASML said in a statement.
