The Long March (1934-36) plays an important role in both the Communist Party of China and China's history. To better understand it, China Daily reporter Stephanie Stone climbed the Laoyashan mountain in Zunyi, Guizhou province, and saw the battle trenches the Red Army dug during the Long March.
