China's top procuratorate orders arrest of former senior political advisor

BEIJING -- The Supreme People's Procuratorate has announced its decision to arrest Shen Deyong, a former senior political advisor, for suspected bribe-taking.
The National Commission of Supervision has completed an investigation into Shen's case and transferred it to procuratorial authorities for prosecution, the SPP said in a statement on Wednesday.
Shen was formerly a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee and head of the Committee on Social and Legal Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee.
The handling of the case is underway.
