20 people injured in bus crash stable for now
Twenty people injured in an overturned bus in Guizhou province are being treated at a local hospital, with all-out efforts from national and provincial-level medical experts, according to a report on Eyesnews, an app affiliated with Guizhou Daily.
Twenty-seven people died in the crash.
The National Health Commission and the province have sent 32 medical experts in different professions — including critical care medicine, neurosurgery and thoracic surgery — to the prefecture-level hospital in Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, where the accident occurred.
Four passengers who were injured seriously are not at risk of death for the moment, while the other 16 are in stable condition, the report said.
"The medical experts will make every effort to implement scientific, accurate treatment," it added.
The expert group has carried out multidisciplinary consultation for the injured, one by one, and formulated "one person, one policy" treatment plans, the report said.
The bus was carrying 47 people from Guiyang, Guizhou, to a quarantine site, when it rolled onto its side on an expressway early Sunday morning, according to the local public security bureau.
Lin Gang, vice-mayor of Guiyang, apologized to society at a news conference on Sunday night.
