Tens of thousands of firefighters and control room staff in the United Kingdom are to vote over the possibility of a pay strike.
The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) said the action followed a 2 percent pay offer they received in June, which has not been increased, despite soaring inflation.
This announcement was made hours before new Prime Minister Liz Truss took office on Tuesday, and follows a wave of strikes in other industries this summer.
