China's grassroot think tank calls attention to aging society
A Chinese grassroots think tank released a report titled "Keywords for an Aging Society (2022)" in Beijing on Tuesday, calling attention to building an age-friendly society.
The report sorted out 50 core concepts for better understanding an aging society, including population aging, single age, Lewis inflection point, off-site retirement, delayed retirement, three-child policy, etc.
According to the publisher, the Pangoal Institution Ageing Society Studies Center, the report aims to provide knowledge required to government agencies and people from all walks of life, to understand important concepts, characteristics and trends in social, economic and cultural fields related to aging society.
Li Jia, deputy director of the Ageing Society Studies Center, said that the whole world is entering a fast-ageing stage, which is unprecedented, and thus all-round transformation is a must to adapt to this change.
"Aging population is not something to fear as long as our society is properly prepared," he said.
Established in April 2018, the Pangoal Institution Ageing Society Studies Center has a special focus on social innovation, public policies and aging industries.
