Logging on to the future

Editor's note: To mark the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China Daily is producing a series of data graphics pages to outline the nation's major achievements during the past decade. This is the first in the series, which provides a graphic demonstration of China's successful development of the internet and online services. The country has more than 1 billion internet users, most of whom now use mobile devices to access the web and take advantage of the sharing economy that offers services such as e-banking, food deliveries and ride-hailing platforms. In addition, measures are ongoing to narrow the "digital divide" between the urban and rural populations and ensure greater access to such services for all citizens.
