Wuxi reports 35 new COVID-19 infections
Wuxi, Jiangsu province, reported 35 COVID-19 infections on Sunday. All the patients were sent to designated hospitals for treatment.
As of Monday morning, the city has traced and put under quarantine more than 9,000 close contacts since the first infection emerged in the city on Tuesday.
Of the 10,740 samples collected from their living environment, 198 tested positive for COVID-19, the city's health commission said on Monday.
Wuxi suspended dine-in services at restaurants on Saturday. It also suspended the operation of intercity buses, scenic spots, shopping malls, supermarkets and basement gyms.
Jiangsu on Sunday reported four confirmed cases and 52 asymptomatic cases. Of those, Wuxi reported 34, Xuzhou reported 16 and Suzhou and Yancheng reported one case each.
Wuxi has three areas designated as high-risk, and Xuzhou has eight. Jiangsu has 11 areas designated as medium-risk, including one in Nanjing, five in Wuxi and five in Xuzhou.
