Pyongyang fires 8 missiles, Seoul says
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea fired eight short-range ballistic missiles eastward, the Republic of Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said on Sunday. The JCS said in a statement that it detected the launches around four areas, including Sunan in Pyongyang, Kaechon in South Pyongan Province, Tongchang-ri in North Pyongan Province and Hamhung in South Hamkyong Province, from 9:08 am to 9:43 am local time. The missiles traveled some 110 kilometers to 670 km at an altitude of 25-90 km and a speed of Mach 3-6.The intelligence authorities of the ROK and the United States are conducting a detailed analysis on the missile launches, the JCS said.

3 killed, 11 injured in Philadelphia shooting
Three people have died and at least 11 other people were wounded in a shooting late on Saturday night in Philadelphia, authorities said. Police Inspector D. F. Pace said in a news conference that shots were fired into a crowd in the city's downtown area and an officer shot at a suspect. It is unclear if the suspect was hit. Local media outlets reported that no arrests had been made. The conditions of those who were wounded in the shooting remain unknown. On the same day, a 20-year-old man was killed and seven others injured during a shooting at a graduation party in central Virginia, police said.
