Shanghai reports 39 confirmed, 131 asymptomatic local COVID-19 cases
Shanghai reported 39 local confirmed COVID-19 cases and 131 asymptomatic infections on Friday.
One confirmed case was found outside of controlled and locked-down zones. The case, a 67-year-old woman residing in Songjiang district, tested positive during regular neighborhood nucleic acid screening and has been quarantined at a hospital.
The residential compound she lives in, 585 Binhu Road in Fangsong sub-district in Songjiang, has been classified as a medium-risk area.
As of 9:00 am on Saturday, 13 close contacts of the patient have been identified and placed in centralized quarantine. Three of them who lived with the patient have been quarantined for treatment after testing positive for COVID-19 as confirmed cases, while the rest tested negative.
