CMC to honor military personnel

The Central Military Commission will award the August 1 Medal, the highest honor of China's armed forces, to outstanding military personnel as the People's Liberation Army is set to celebrate its 95th founding anniversary on Aug 1 this year. The conferring of the medal, authorized by Xi Jinping, chairman of the CMC, is intended to honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the protection of national sovereignty, security and development interests, and the modernization of China's national defense and military.
