Students and faculty transported to safety after COVID-19 outbreak

As of Friday morning, all 6,556 students in Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology University, accompanied by 85 teachers, have been transported to different cities in Jilin province, China Central Television reported.

After that, thorough disinfection will be conducted in the university.

As of Thursday, a total of 68 local COVID-19 cases, including 20 confirmed cases and 48 asymptomatic cases were reported in the university - located in the city of Jilin - since the first case was found on Sunday, according to a report in The Paper.

Jilin province reported 98 new local confirmed cases on Thursday, including 93 in Jilin city, two in Changchun and three in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture.

Another 148 asymptomatic carriers were detected, including 123 in Jilin city, 21 in Changchun, and one each in Yanbian, Siping, Songyuan and Meihekou.
