Over 1m support HK frontline medical workers
Over 1.08 million people expressed support for medical workers in Hong Kong amid the city's worst wave of COVID-19.
The online petition to rally support for frontline medical workers has been well-received.
Many have left thank-you messages on the website of the online campaign. "The medical workers deserve a 'like' for working around the clock for the residents of Hong Kong." "What you do will definitely go down in the medical history of Hong Kong."
The city has seen infections growing at an exponential rate over the past few days, with daily positive cases surpassing 6,000 three times in the past four days.
In another move, Hong Kong Community Anti-Coronavirus Link, established by various sectors of the city, on Tuesday will launch a rally campaign for frontline medical staff by inviting residents to clap their hands for two minutes at 22:22.
