Wuxi of Jiangsu province recorded one case infected with the Omicron variant, the city's center for disease control and prevention reported on Tuesday.

The infected person arrived in Shanghai from Australia on Wednesday, and later was sent to Wuxi for quarantine after spending three days in quarantine in Shanghai.

The person has been under a closed-loop management after entering the country, the CDC said, adding that the patient was receiving treatment at a local designated hospital for COVID-19.
