Zizhu National High-Tech Industrial Development Park releases white paper
The Zizhu National High-Tech Industrial Development Park in Shanghai released its Sustainability White Paper 2021 on Dec 17.
The white paper reviewed the park's work in promoting sustainable development from 2019 to 2020 using 47 indicators from the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
According to the white paper, the park has made significant efforts to create new drivers for innovation-driven development, improve industrial services, enhance ecological harmony, and build a habitable home for everyone.
The park also hosted three roundtables for scholars and entrepreneurs to discuss dual carbon goals, business changes that would help achieve better ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) performance, and using technology for social good.
Representatives from academia and companies, including the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Emlyon Business School, and Exxon Mobil, took part in the event.
The park was founded in 2002 and designated as the National High-Tech Industrial Development Park by the State Council in 2011. Located in Minhang district and next to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the park has attracted many company headquarters, R&D institutions and well-known high-end manufacturers, including Intel, Microsoft, and Coca Cola.
