Lam heads to BJ to deliver annual report to central govt

Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor will depart for Beijing on Monday night for the annual reporting of work to the central government.
Speaking to media on Monday morning, Lam said the official visit is the last of her five-year term.
She is expected to deliver the SAR government's work in 2021, which includes the latest Legislative Council election, the city's economic rebound and social issues such as housing and poverty.
Specifically, Lam said, she will report to the central government about her future work relating to the nation's 14th Five-Year Plan and her ambitious plan of developing the Northern Metropolis, to synergize Hong Kong's northern areas with its neighboring city Shenzhen.
Lam said she will also relay to central authorities Hong Kong residents' strong desire to resume quarantine-free cross-border travels with the mainland.
