Nanjing records one new COVID-19 case

Nanjing of East China's Jiangsu province reported one locally transmitted COVID-19 case on Wednesday.

The case, surnamed Lu, was a contact of a confirmed case reported in another province, according to the city's COVID-19 joint control headquarters. Lu tested positive two days after being released from quarantine and has been sent to a designated hospital for treatment.

As of Wednesday morning, 30 contacts and 105 sub-close contacts have been identified and will all be quarantined. Two residential communities which Lu visited have been put on lockdown.

Nine new locally transmitted cases were reported in the Yangtze Delta on Tuesday, with eight in Zhejiang province and one in Shanghai, according to the National Health Commission on Wednesday.
