China's paper-making industry sees higher revenue, profits

BEIJING -- China's paper-making industry reported growth in revenue and profits in the first 10 months of this year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The industry's revenue totaled 1.22 trillion yuan (about $191 billion) in the January-October period, up 16.8 percent year on year, the ministry said.
During the period, the profits of the paper-making industry reached 70.72 billion yuan, a 22.4-percent surge from a year earlier.
According to the ministry data, the paper output increased 8.4 percent year on year to 111.64 million tonnes in the first 10 months.
In October alone, the paper output stood at 11.01 million tonnes, down 6.7 percent year on year.
