Asymptomatic carrier of COVID-19 reported in Urumqi

One new asymptomatic COVID-19 carrier was reported in Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe district) in Urumqi, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, reported Xinjiang Daily on Friday.
The individual tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday during a regular nucleic acid testing and has been diagnosed as an asymptomatic COVID-19 carrier. The person has been put under quarantine and medical observation in a designated medical facility in Urumqi.
The prefecture's COVID-19 prevention and control headquarters immediately issued an emergency response. Currently, epidemiological surveys, citywide viral testing and disinfection have been launched.
