Twins embark on joint college journeys
Pairs of Chinese twins who have taken the country's national college entrance exam, or gaokao, will enter the universities in the upcoming semester. Here are some twins who will go to the same universities.
Wang Guyan and Wang Guxin, twin brothers from the No 1 High School of Linqu county in Shandong province, were accepted into Peking University this year.
The elder brother, Wang Guyan, was accepted by the environmental science major within the school of urban and environmental engineering. The younger brother, Wang Guxin, was accepted by life science major.
The twins like reading. "Our father guided us in reading ancient poems and literature since childhood," said the twins, "hence we have great interest in books of this kind."
"Guyan has long aspired to protect the environment, he even received a national-level award in environmental protection during middle school," said the twins' father, Wang Xiaoqing, when talking about their choices of major.
"Guxin loved animals since a young age and made it his goal to explore relationship between life science and philosophy of life," he said.
