Wuhu in East China's Anhui province will launch mass testing for COVID-19 as the city reported an asymptomatic case on Saturday, said the city's COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control headquarters in a statement on Sunday.
The case has been found related to the recent outbreak of COVID-19 at the Lukou International airport in Nanjing and had been brought under quarantine.
The statement said the mass testing would start immediately and called for cooperation from local residents, whose lives would be affected by multiple measures during the testing, including the compulsory cancellation of such mass gatherings as conferences, banquets and training courses.
