China has administered more than 1.5 billion COVID-19 vaccines as of Thursday, the National Health Commission said on Friday.
The country delivered 16 million doses on Thursday, commission data shows. It now takes around nine days for China to give 100 million doses, compared with around 20 days in April.
The domestic mass immunization campaign began with a focus on vaccinating adults aged 18 to 59, and gradually proceeded to cover the elderly.
Since last week, regions across the country have announced they will expand inoculation to teenagers aged 12 to 17.
